Who is it for?

Counselling is for anyone who is experiencing difficulties or challenges in managing their emotional lives.  This may be the result of a new experience, possibly brought about by a recent experience such as a bereavement, a separation or other loss, or some catastrophic event or trauma.  Alternatively it may be because of something that happened in the past, or that has been happening for a number of years, that is continuing to effect us.

We can become trapped in repeating patterns that fail to give us what we want or need and yet we seem unable to break free from them.  We may find ourselves becoming increasingly overloaded by our life experiences so that we feel we are moving ever closer to becoming overwhelmed or burnt out.

While counselling can help people who are experiencing extremely difficult emotions, it also has a role to play for people who are not satisfied with the way their lives are turning out and wish to make changes.  There are no limits to who can potentially be helped by counselling or the problems that can be worked through.
